Katy Virgoe is a songwriter that has always had a passion for performing, particularly with other musicians. Starting off as a solo artist she performed at small festivals and music events around the South East with her voice and a guitar, but since studying at BIMM she has found the joy in playing with other performers, giving her songs a new sound.

Katy’s music is now constantly changing from having an electronic feel to an open acoustic sound depending on the musicians she’s playing with.

Nick Stephens invented the Octave Guitar to create a very full sound for his Funky Blues Gospel songs. You can hear how good it sounds by watching the videos at Nick’s website.

Nick opened the Local & Live Music Festival Mainstage in 2018. Jake Boyle’s response to Nick's live work was: “F***ing incredible!” and Geno Washington said of his Octave Guitar sound: “Don’t change sh**!”.

Milly was first inspired, by Avril Lavigne, to pick up an electric guitar when she was 6 years old. A few years later she started singing and now mainly plays acoustic guitar and occasionally the ukulele or piano.

She has been providing live music across Surrey, Sussex and Kent since she was 13, at a variety of venues including cafes, restaurants, hotels, pubs, weddings, partys and festivals. Her sets consist of popular covers and originals, with her songwriting influences mainly coming from country music, and her voice and tone having a natural country style.

Visits to Nashville, Tennessee, have provided Milly with inspiration and on one visit was able to perform some of her original songs at the legendary Bluebird Cafe.

Her love of music combined with the opportunities to play live for people, is how she enjoys her spare time.
