Funke and the Two Tone Baby is a one man sonic explosion. Uncategorized and uncharted. Jammed halfway between frenzied alt-blues and metronomic dance beats. Combining guitar and harmonica with beatboxing and effects that seamlessly collide the organic with the mechanical to create a fresh sound of unstoppable rhythm and unrelenting melody.
Beyond the double microphones and trademark trilby is Dan Turnbull, a multi-instrumental battery spinning musical plates. A powerhouse to the ears and a blur to the eyes who smashes stage, festival and string after string whilst sweeping up audiences and dropping jaws from Boomtown Fair to Kendal Calling and Secret Garden Party to Convoi de Fete (NL).
Underpinning performances is ‘Balance’, released summer 2015 and heralded as ‘a masterpiece of an album’ by Louder Than War. Balance is a record that mixes musical mastery with an unhinged romp and a tour de force of powerful songwriting, heavy production and a ‘superb collection of musical vignettes’ (R2 Magazine). You’ll hear a full band before you see one man behind a wall of sound, so move your feet and dance off your face.
The Jazz singing, Violin playing, Rapper...
Charley is a country girl at heart who grew up on a small Kentish farm but from an early age knew she was born to be a performer.
There may be something about Mary Poppins in Charley's sunny smile but things aren't what they used to be back in the day - when she'd play to a farmyard audience, when the countryside was her stage as she rapped into her broom, when cockerels harmonised with her beautiful vocals and when Henry the Horse was her biggest fan.
Charley now has 'Blue', her violin partner in crime, a true star and sight to behold. With his searing strings, desirable curves and eye-catching outfit, Blue is classically shy at first but soon becomes more and more 'Frisky' as the songs get down and raunchy. He is one of a kind, a violin like no other. If you're not coming for Charley, you gotta see the stud that is Blue.
Jake started writing songs at the age of sixteen, the first one kick-starting a habit of song writing. Having made his international debut at Limon Y Chelo in Andratx in August, he only started gigging in the UK in late 2012. With currently no music available for purchase, Jake hopes to put an album together over the summer of 2013 and make it available at a date to be confirmed. Influences include a range from Ron Pope and Newton Faulkner to Fallout boy and Panic at The Disco, giving room for a lot of variation.
Born with left side Microtia, Nick picked up the guitar from his folk playing parents when he was seven years old.
His uncle played drums with Suzi Quatro in the seventies, so music has always run in the family.
Nick started to sing and produce his own songs at eighteen having honed his blues, rag finger style and soulful rocky tones.
He ran a studio for three years and in 2013, now with time to focus on himself as an artist, released his debut EP followed by his debut album early 2015.
Nick aims to be out and about more than he ever has been, to promote himself, record label, charities and good music. More info online.
