Headline Act: The Standard Lamps

Formed in late 2009 by Mike Wilton, The Standard Lamps believe that it's about time that we took things back to basics. During the last two years, Mike has been experimenting with various musicians to produce ‘The Standard Lamps’ which consists of James Livett on bass and Matt Bennie (Goldie Reed, Billy Jupp) on drums.

Playing countless gigs in the South East, The Standard Lamps have been pleasing audiences since Early 2010. Their music can be described as a mixture of melodic tunes with a raw blues edge. With their first EP ‘Portland’ (2010) and debut album ‘Sell Everything You Own’ (2012) already under their belts, they are now planning the second album with a trilogy of singles to be released throughout Summer 2013.

The Standard Lamps believe in sounding where you come from. The Standard Lamps believe in variety. The Standard Lamps believe having fun with what you're doing. The Standard Lamps believe in giving you a good time.

Ant & Fie

Chiddingstone based duo Ant & Fie are Anthony Vicary (guitar and vocals) and Fiona Keeler (vocals & Piano.)  Anthony was previously the frontman of local indie/rock band ‘Catching Flies'. After five years of rigorous performing all over the southeast it was decided that the band had reached a natural end leading Anthony to put down his electric guitar and explore the acoustic side of rock music. With Fiona joining more recently, this talented duo have fused together to emerge as one of the most talented and highly respected acts at the show here at The Grey Lady. Their breathtaking vocals express creative and thought provoking lyrics coupled with crafted melodies which comprises elements of folk, blues and alternative acoustic rock. The duo enjoyed their radio debut earlier this year with a recent live performance of ‘Tobacco Stained Guitar' on BBC Radio Kent. They have just released their debut EP entitled ‘The Quiet'.

GEMM

Giorgia Moran and Eleanor Mason (GEMM) met at secondary school in Rye. After a short while of being friends they learnt that they shared a passion for music, singing and guitar (which they were beginning to learn at the time) they had both been in the early processes of writing their own songs at the time, which they began to perform to each other for constructive criticism and harmonies.

The first song they ever performed together was after showing their music teacher Mr Chris McGeever, who then added it in last minute, to the school concert, which was on that very night.

Slowly, as their confidence was built up, and their style became more rounded, thanks to the support of their music teachers at school, friends and family, they began to gig more outside of school, around the local area: Rye, Hastings and then busking in Brighton. GEMM consists of two vocals, two guitars, all original material with harmonies, and have been described as "folk-pop".

Since the early days, they have been offered many gigs, varying from music concerts to performing at various art conventions. But have had to slow it down due to GCSE exams in their last year at school. Now that they are almost finished, they hope to start it up again, and create a larger fan-base and start gigging at different venues.

You can "like" GEMM on Facebook to hear about new recordings/gigs and other news. Both singers within the duo, also perform solo, which you can also find on facebook, by searching either of their names.
