'The Last Drones' duo was formed in 2009 by guitarist Matt Read & vocalist Jon Murray. After a gap of fifteen years from their first meeting as writers The Last Drones have combined to offer both lyrically & musically an original & unusual musical style. Matt's percussive and intricate guitar parts combine with Jon's distinctive vocals to create an emotionally driven & dramatic sound. Although they have many musical influences they see their music as the product of living in the moment, which they were lucky enough to capture together as friends and creative partners.
Aaron has been in various bands starting from his college days when the 'Britpop' scene was fully in bloom. He has gigged and toured extensively. His journey has included supporting Bob Geldolf, Playing the Glasgow Barfly to three people, (!) selling out the London Water Rats, busking the streets of Chichester, supporting Athlete, playing Brixton academy, supporting Dodgy (they all count), playing Shepherds Bush Empire, mass flirting with A'n'R monkeys, writing the XFM song of the week, and creating three singles and one full length album to name a few landmarks and pit-stops along the way.
Aaron's performances draw his audience into an intimate conversation even in the largest of venues. Frith's turn of phrase and observations on the struggle and wonder of life connect with the listener in personal and surprising ways. Sharing his life, ideas and adventures with a voice rich with emotion and authenticity has brought him some success and acclaim. Lyrically, he has always held his faith close to his heart but not to his chest as he uses the inspiration, challenge and experience of wrestling with man's relationship to God as a canvassing theme for his writing.
Aaron recently counted twenty-three different jobs he has done to support his compulsion to connect with people through music. At the moment it is working for Social Services, Church Music Director and Office Furniture Installation. All this to facilitate performing material from his debut album 'Lifeline'. A fresh young duo from Tunbridge Wells creating their own original material.
They met through music at TWGSB at the age of 12 and soon became a creative partnership appearing regularly at school events. The music facilities and guidance at their school have kept them inspired and they are both taking music as a key subject.
Eden plays guitar, piano and bass and provides harmonies to Oils’ sweet soulful vocals. He has been playing since he was 5, starting out on a £10 Argos guitar - which he still takes to the beach!
Oli is the lyricist and has been singing and performing since an early age, appearing in festivals, musicals and local events.
Influences are wide ranging, from indie/acoustic through to jazz and soul.
Frances’ songs lead you on an unpredictable musical journey telling tales of courage, hope, fear, beauty, sadness and love. Her music is described by audiences as ‘spine-tingling, dark, at times unsettling in its depth of emotion, breathtaking and beautiful’.
