Headline Act: Bison (acoustic set)

Bisons can’t sing, talk or play music. However, if they could, it probably wouldn’t sound like Tunbridge Well’s HOTTEST BAND ‘Bison.’ It would sound more like ‘mmphhphphphrrrhahhahahahrhghghghgh’. Luckily, this isn’t what Bison sound like. They sound more like a three piece rock band consisting of Charlie Gibson on guitar and vocals, ‘Mad’ Lewie Roberts on the bass, and Alex ‘The Dawg’ Cooper on the skins. Inspired by the calm menace of a herd of big horny cows, they play original guitar-driven rock focussing on brooding blues, pop positivity and big ****ing chunky songs. When tasked with writing a band biography, they displayed their infectious sense of punk rebellion by making it incredibly half-arsed. Thankfully, or so they believe, their song-writing chops, stunning looks and collectively great hair makes up for other deficiencies. Will their songs win over a tough Tunbridge Wells crowd? Only you can decide.

Becky Briggs

Becky Briggs is a young, but driven singer-songwriter, who acoustically accompanies herself. Despite her diverse repertoire, her music influences differ in genre. She would consider herself to be influenced by the likes of Gabrielle Aplin, Birdy and Maisie Peters. However, her new found love for other types of music, such as R&B and Indie rock will be a creative incentive to compose and experiment in a different style. Becky will be studying Songwriting at BIMM Brighton in September, where she hopes to learn and further develop herself as an artist.

Kat White

One half English, one half French and coming from the south of Brittany this duo have been playing together and writing songs for about a year. Only fifteen years old, both grew up surrounded by hard rock and blues such as ACDC, Etta James, Otis Redding and Led Zeppelin. Drawing their influence from this childhood, Thibault and Kat have also added the more pop and indie rock tones that reflect their personalities and current musical interests.

Having started writing songs at the age of twelve, inspired by teachers (such as Jon Drury) at Sevenoaks School, Kat then went on to leave England to study in France and subsequently meet Thibault, who, being a drummer, guitarist, bassist and ukeleist, helped develop Kat's already existent songs and write new ones.

They have performed together in festivals such as "La Fête de la Musique" in Brest, concerts in the Archipel in Fouesnant, and "Les Jeudis de Pleuven". Before moving to France, Kat performed at Sevenoaks school, and competed in the Open Mic UK competition.

Gronk

Raised by pack animals in the south, Gronk was subsequently stationed in the Home Counties where he studied for A-Levels in navelgazing before escaping to London. He found moderate success with gothic psych-rock band Carnival of Souls in the early noughties, before meeting near-indifference at a handful of solo gigs in Brixton. A trip to the US followed, during which he discovered the marimba and returned to form the Body Doubles, a shambolic rock 'n' roll act currently limping around London's sawdust venues. Gronk writes folk and rock songs bolstered by a healthy dose of gallows humour, and appears tonight with Body Doubles lead guitarist Claud "the musket" Musker.
