Headline Act: Son Of Kirk

Son of Kirk is a meeting of hearts and minds. A constantly evolving musical force driven by four uniquely creative individuals, who build on a foundation of inspired song-writing and strong melodic and lyrical interplay.

Interweaving violin, cello and syncopated guitar lines, combine with dance and Afro beat informed percussive drum patterns and elements of improvisation. Four part harmonies create overlapping vocal lines, inspired by tribal and folk traditions. Expect to be taken on multiple rhythmic twists and turns, by songs that circle and hover, unveil and reveal.

The members of Son of Kirk grew up in varying backgrounds around the world, from Australian cults, to the wilds of West Africa, through American suburbia, to the industrial Midlands and the lush, green beauty of The Garden of England, ultimately coming together on the Tunbridge Wells music scene.

The band are currently working on new songs to be released as a series of E.P.s with accompanying films. The first of these ‘Utopia Shake’ is available to view on Facebook. Songs are available at iTunes

The Bryony Brooke band, formed in the summer of 2013, consists of Bryony Brooke, James Friis-Lawrence, and Roger Nunn; an acoustic, melodic country trio with original songs delivering beautiful three part harmonies and toe-tapping rhythm.

Performing all over Sussex, Bryony Brooke, makes her mark with her original country/folk sound. A regular on the Hastings acoustic scene, and a performer in his own right, James Friis-Lawrence stamps his varying styles in every performance. Drummer and percussionist, Roger Nunn says, “I like to hit things!” At home with all genres, his playing is infectious!

Delivering their own branded take on the acoustic trio, featuring guitars, fiddle, piano and djembe, The Bryony Brooke Band infuse their melodies with intricate harmonies, pulsing rhythm, and dynamic solos, carving their own corner in the country genre.

The band are currently performing all over the South East and have finished their first album, coming out early next year!

Tom Harvey

An aspiring singer/songwriter from a small town named Cranbrook, my influences include Lucy Rose, John Mayer and Dan Croll. I’ve played at weddings, local festivals and other places/events around the area including supporting local bands. I focus my writing on contemporary acoustic styles and themes trying to create something new by experimenting with how I make music, creating innovative percussion melodies using my guitar as well as writing more stripped back songs. Collaborating with dance musicians and other bands on tracks my vocals were played on a recent BBC introducing radio show and I hope to further develop my songs through recording. Writing about personal experiences in my own way, I have developed a further love for musicianship in writing, and hope to further this in study and a career in any which way possible supported by my passion for performing it.
