Headline Act: Luke Bacon

Until fairly recently Luke sang and played guitar in local band ‘Tehillah Commission’ who over a six year period performed throughout the South East (and occasionally further afield). Since their final performance in the summer of 2009 Luke has taken time working on new material, collaborating with a number of local artists and also writing songs to perform as a solo artist. Drawing from extremely diverse influences (from John Mayer to Usher), Luke sets out to write songs that interrogate the highs and lows of life, often imbedding insightful questions within carefully crafted toe-tapping melodies.

Luke is accompanied by Barnabus Shaw on piano.

Lights on the Mountain are a Kent based band who write and perform contemporary folk music. They are a new musical project started up by the band formerly known as Threeforagirl. As musicians they have together toured the London circuit, the United States and more recently have become prominent on the Scottish music scene, playing at the very first Sofar Sounds Edinburgh. They love playing at the Grey Lady, their favourite home venue.

Lights on the Mountain released their first single 'The Wars' on the 4th January 2014 at a sell-out launch the Borderline in London alongside West London folk collective Stokes, William. Lo! Behold

Born in London and raised in Sevenoaks, Lo was introduced to the Beatles at age five and rapidly developed her first musical obsession. Studying classical piano into her teens, she expanded her tastes to take in Kate Bush, the Smiths and Regina Spektor. Her sound is one of contrasts, between her haunting yet honeyed voice, her dark and desolate lyrics, the warmth of her piano; her songs too transform autobiography into more abstract imagery.

Lo has received airplay on BBC Kent and BBC6 Music. She was invited, as part of BBC Introducing, to the Introducing Masterclass at Abbey Road and Maida Vale studios and her performance for Tom Robinson was featured on the BBC website . More recently she was selected to take part in the Mayor of London's Big Busk competition which saw her busk at the O2, amongst other famous London landmarks.

Miller & Nodwell

Edward Miller grew up in the small Sussex town of East Grinstead. Oliver Nodwell grew up in near by Marsh Green, Kent. Since the age of twelve they have been collaborating musically mostly for fun. Since 2008 they have slowly discovered a strong love for acoustic and folk music and have embarked upon a new musical venture in Miller & Nodwell.

In late 2009, after only three gigs and two radio appearances, the boys went travelling for almost two years to the southern hemisphere, gathering inspiration from the apple orchards, dairy farms and southern alps of New Zealand to the outback and the grand cities of Australia. They were very well received, winning competitions in both countries and chosen as one of Balcony TV Brisbane’s launch acts.

The duo’s catalogue involves both collaborations between the two artists and individual and very different developed styles of playing and singing.

Now back in South East England, the duo are set to record all the gathered material and play as many live shows as possible, sharing their stories and experiences wherever they can.

Check out their soundcloud page for free downloads.
