LOCAL & LIVE LOGO

Lineup:

Headline: Intraverse
Main support: Steffan James
Opening set: The Floodgates

Paul says "Headliners Intraverse are without doubt one of the most flamboyant and talented bands to have ever come out of Tunbridge Wells. They are such an entertaining group and their musicianship is mindblowing. Take the atmosphere and emotion of Pink Floyd, the power and presence of Muse and a dash of funk and groove from the Chilli Peppers, throw all that into a blender and give it a good thrashing for 3-6 minutes and that is Intraverse! Steffan James reminds me of artists such as James Morrison, Paulo Nutini and Bon Iver. Accompanied by his five-piece band, Steffan offers an upbeat lilting style led by his expansive guitar playing and soulful vocal and he knows how to get the crowd going with his foot stomping rock/pop tunes. Opening proceedings are The Floodgates, who are making a name for themselves on the local scene. Influenced by the likes of Mumford and Sons, Tom Odell, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, The Floodgates focus themselves on making every one of their performances as lively, intense and memorable as they possibly can."

Doors open 7pm, music from 8pm. Tickets are now available from the Trinity theatre box office over the counter, online or by phone.

Take the atmosphere and emotion of Pink Floyd, the power and presence of Rage Against The Machine, the charm and charisma of Muse and a dash of funk and groove from the Chilli Peppers, Throw all that into a blender and give it a good thrashing for 3-6 minutes and that is Intraverse! Intraverse are five close friends stretching back over a decade when they first met at school. Over the years, whilst all holding down full time jobs, the band grafted away and put all their passion, sweat, blood and tears into their music to hone their sound and create a live performance coupling visual theatrics with great musicianship. The Music has evolved over the years and they have recorded and sold 1000’s of CD’s and played hundreds of venues and festivals. Intraverse made their first official release in Dec 2010 with a track called ‘Please don’t share your kisses’ which reached no.4 in the iTunes rock chart and no 35 in the official Indie Chart which in truth was not expected, but a welcome achievement. The band were subsequently invited to perform at Download Festival and shortly afterwards released a second single and video 'Grant me permission'. 2014 has seen their recently released single and video release entitled ‘Tickle your fancy’ get off to a flying start and has the potential to outsell all their previous releases by quite some way. Intraverse plan to release their first official full length album later this year. Watch this space!

Steffan James, a singer songwriter with a great voice for blues and acoustic music" - Wild Acoustic.com

Steffan James, a South London-based singer songwriter, found his sound in the last few years travelling the USA. Heavily influenced by the blues and acoustic world of California he has toured the world as a guitarist, singer and songwriter for many an act. In late 2012 he started work on his own solo project. The first two singles "Inside Out" and "She Knows" gained a lot of independent radio play in The States and across Europe and his debut album "The Truth" was released by way of an official launch concert at the Grey Lady Music Lounge at the end of 2013 and has already enjoyed glowing reviews and flourishing sales.

8pm - The Floodgates     www.the-floodgates.co.uk     listen to tracks at www.soundcloud.com/floodgatesband

The Floodgates launched at the beginning of Summer 2013. Originally a folk rock duo, they are now a four-piece acoustic rock band, under RIFT Management, comprising Martin Stenning, Tim Fullbrook, Eden Fish and Alex Wane. Influences including Mumford and Sons, Jeff Buckley and Tom Odell, The Floodgates now feature both acoustic and electric guitar, drums/cajon, bass, piano and three vocal lines. At just 17 years old and still at school, Martin Stenning on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, writes songs from the Red Walls of his bedroom with all the conviction of any Dylan number. After a morning spent busking in London, they were invited to play at the open day of Heavyweight boxing champion David Haye’s gym, leading them to regular shows all over England, each one played with as much raw passion, as the last. Debut EP, ‘God Knows’, is out in the Spring 2014.
