Local & Live Winter Concert: The Charlie Rivers Band & The Paul Dunton Orchestra

The Assembly Halls, Tunbridge Wells

Following on from the success of main festival in August, Saturday December 4th marks the date for the first ever Local & Live winter concert at the Assembly Halls featuring popular Tunbridge Wells groups The Charlie Rivers Band and The Paul Dunton Orchestra.

Paul Says “I am delighted and honoured to be sharing the bill with The Charlie Rivers Band for this inaugural Local & Live Winter concert. We are both very ‘fired up’ about performing at The Assembly Halls, it is not often that two local acts get the opportunity to play a 1000 seater venue such as this. We hope it will be a sell out, it’s a really exciting prospect and we both plan to work as hard as possible to achieve this goal.  The Charlie Rivers Band gave a stunning headline performance at this year’s on the final day of this year’s festival and I know they will raise the roof once again at The Assembly Halls. They have established themselves as one of the leading acts on the local scene and continue to go from strength to strength having just recently supported Newton Falkner at an exclusive gig aboard the HMS Belfast. A few months ago they launched their much anticipated debut album 'Tender Chaos' and have played a host of sell out shows both in the UK and abroad. They deliver catchy melodies, intertwining vocal harmonies with songs that range from the blissfully acoustic to the all out Rock 'n' Roll!”

As well as promoting local acts through his twice weekly Grey Lady showcases and Local & Live, Paul is an established artist in his own right and his captivating music is described a unique fusion of classical and modern pop/alternative. Paul Says “I will be performing with my entire crew which will mean 10 violins 10 Cellos, 2 flutes, guitar and piano alongside vocalist Fiona Keeler.……I guess we are like a mini orchestra! I’ve always intended my music to be heard in this orchestral fashion and my influences include composers such as Barber and Rachmaninov alongside modern day songwriters such as Ben Folds, Damien Rice and Burt Bacharach. We will be performing tracks from my new album ‘Escapism’ which was recently released in addition to some exciting orchestral covers from acts such as The Beatles, Elbow, Turin Brakes and The Kinks.

Tickets are just £10 on the door or available in advance from the box office on 07872 334803
