2010 promises to be the best yet!

Paul Dunton & Guests enters its 5th year in 2010 and over the past 12 months it has been fantastic to see the roster expand to an incredible 153 local acts. The variety and musical, songwriting talent on show is better than ever.

Such is the demand to play there are currently 52 acts on the reserve list and so much exceptional local talent for people to come and see. The show adopts a listening etiquette; it’s all about putting the music first and the atmosphere is wonderfully positive and relaxed. Other positive additions have been our association with ‘Audio Sorcery’ studios who have provided me the opportunity to award 4 acts per calendar year 3 days of free studio time working with renowned producer; Paul Midcalf. 2010 also saw the shows expand to the highly revered ‘Music Room’ at Pizzaexpress Maidstone on a bi monthly basis. The show features headline acts from the roster and often acts based in the mid to east Kent area.

I am delighted to announce that every show so far has been a sell out and I am confident this will continue to be the case in 2010 and beyond.  Future plans include the streaming of artists songs via MP3 on their profile page and I am still considering streaming the shows at The Grey Lady live on to the web, although an alternative is to ‘film, edit and screen’ a selected show on a regular basis and videos could be viewed on the show's website. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports the shows both past, present and future, and of course all the artists. Sam Nesbitt (sound), Di Soames (management), and Mike Houghton (photography/website) are also key to the show’s continued success. Best wishes for the New Year and please keep supporting local original music.
