Headline Act: Sevenscore

With a sound described as 'Thom Yorke meets John Lennon', Tunbridge Wells based Sevenscore deliver a dynamic rock/pop sound brimming with edginess and thought provoking lyrics and melodies. Alfie Noakes, Mark Cooper and Martin Lucas formed the band in 2002. Following the recording of their album, 'Safe and Dry' in 2003, performances have included the Tunbridge Wells Forum, the 'Gazastock' festival, 'Music on the Meadow', and two consecutive nights at the 'Hop Farm Fireworks Extravaganza' (attended by over 10,000 each night!) In mid 2006 Sevenscore was joined by Ollie Nicholls and shortly afterwards the band won a place in the final of the kmfm battle of the bands. Following this, the song 'Smile' topped KMFM's local music chart and recieved airplay. Sevenscore gave a memorable headline performance at this year's 'Local & Live' festival and 2009 has seen the band expand to a 5 piece line up with Steve McCormack joining on Guitar/vocals and Paul Dunton on keys. Sevenscore are directing their focus on performing and recording new material which is due for release in the coming months.

Geoff Easeman

Sevenoaks based singer/songwriter Geoff Easeman is an accomplished vocalist and guitarist who has explored various musical genres both in bands and a solo performer. He has established himself as one of the most charismatic soloists at The Grey Lady shows in addition to enjoying a hugely sucessful debut at Paul's ‘Ship Theatre' showcase in Sevenoaks at the end of last year. Geoff was formerly with local eclectic blues/country band ‘The Magd' who themselves were a popular headline act at the Grey Lady shows. The band amicabally dispanded at the end of 2007 leading Geoff to focus on his Solo acoustic gigs in the meantime. Geoff's distinct style is higlighted his nimble and inticate finger work on the steel spring guitar influenced by genres such as Folk, Country, Ragtime & Blues.

Lo And The Beholds

Hailing from Sevenoaks, Lo And The Beholds is a singer who, from the style of her music, clearly holds the likes of Regina Spektor, Kate Bush and Laura Marling in high esteem. She started playing music at the age of five and studied classical piano until reaching grade 8 and completing school. An obsessive Beatles fan, she started off playing a range of ‘60s covers before creating her own unique musical style.

Deriving its emotional force from the haunting disjunction between her dark lyrics and upbeat, plucky piano, Lo’s music can sometimes seem a contradiction. From the oom-pah-pah feel of ‘Routemaster Red’ to the understated desolation of ‘The Same’, Lo is a singer-songwriter who can turn the slightest of emotional experiences into a musical one.

Having recently taken part in a local music competition at the Tunbridge Wells Forum it seems that as her confidence grows so do the quality of her performances. Despite having played only a handful of gigs and open mics in the London area, specifically Islington, Lo’s atmospheric vocals need to be experienced live to be fully appreciated!
