Until fairly recently Luke sang and played guitar in local band ‘Tehillah Commission’ who over a six year period performed throughout the South East (and occasionally further afield). Since their final performance in the summer of 2009 Luke has taken time working on new material, collaborating with a number of local artists and also writing songs to perform as a solo artist. Drawing from extremely diverse influences (from John Mayer to Usher), Luke sets out to write songs that interrogate the highs and lows of life, often imbedding insightful questions within carefully crafted toe-tapping melodies.
Luke is accompanied by Barnabus Shaw on piano.
Tunbridge Wells based singer/songwriter Barney Jameson recently enjoyed an excellent debut at the recent Local & Live Music festival on the Pantiles Bandstand. Barney's recent return to performing live brings to and end a gap of seven years. Barney's atmospheric style mixes frank, honest lyrics with classic, emotive melodies woven around his versatile, haunting tones, influenced by artists such as Jeff and Tim Buckley and Ryan Adams. Barney has enjoyed numerous performances in 2007/2008 at the 'Paul Dunton & Guests' evenings at The Grey Lady Music Lounge and has already established himself as one of the most engaging soloists at the show. In a previous life Barney was the singer in a band called Sugarstone, with whom he performed all over the South of England. Then he went bald.
Caroline Tew is an 18 year old singer/songwriter from Tunbridge Wells. Her songs are expressed through her distinct, enchanting voice and engaging piano & guitar. Caroline started writing when she was just 12 and began performing her own songs in concerts from the age of 15. Caroline made her debut at the Grey Lady at the end of 2009. Caroline gets her inspiration almost entirely from personal experience. ‘I write better about situations I have experienced. More emotion goes into the lyrics and the performance if the song means something to me.’ Inspired by the likes of Missy Higgins, The Fray and Imogen Heap, Caroline says ‘I am inspired by those songwriters who write the powerful songs that people can identify with.’ Caroline is currently working towards her Songwriting Degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
