Headline Act: Sarah Sheldrake and Oli Scheuregger

Sarah Sheldrake & Oli Scheuregger are one of the leading acts at the show, with divine vocals and outstanding piano.

Having learned to play the piano at the age of 5, Oli has been teaching himself for the last 5 years. Though classically trained, he draws inspiration from jazz, ambient and electronica artists such as Little Feat, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Athlete, E.S.T, Richard J. Lewis, Aphex Twin, Trio Elf, M83, MoodBungalo and Yoav. Oli has just finished secondary school and hopes to study sound recording at the University of Surrey.

Fusing his creativity and musicianship with talented singer/songwriter Sarah Sheldrake, the duo actively write and perform together offering a distinct live sound which encompass soul, pop, folk, jazz, electronic and blues influences. Sarah is studying music in her first year at Southampton University and comes back to Kent to collaborate with Oli between their studies. Some of Sarah's influences include Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, The Cinematic Orchestra, Catherine Feeny, Madeline Peyroux, John Martyn and Sufjan Stevens. Paul recently awarded the duo free studio time at Audio Sorcery Studio's in Wadhurst providing the opportunity for Oli & Sarah to record their debut CD with local producer Paul Midcalfe in August of this year.

Kirsti & Josey

Kirsti & Josey have been playing and recording together for about 2-3 years, previously working on covers in productions and concerts. They have also played at small local venues, such as the Retreat, performing covers and original material. The last year has seen the duo working on their own compositions, fusing their individual creativity to produce their own unique style. Much of their music has soul, r'n'b and pop influences that focus on joining lyrics that reflect experiences in our lives with soulful, meaningful melodies and piano parts.
Kirsti has been singing all her life, performing with confidence and technical flare from a young age. Over the last few years she has been singing on popular adverts and is currently studying Music Technology at Lancaster University. Josey has been playing the piano for about 12 years and has been writing her own material since she was 13. She is currently studying a Music degree at the University of Southampton.

Bones aka Tim Connolly

Hailing from a highly competitive, music driven family, Tim originally learned his trade behind a drum kit, in bands with his father and brothers, names that are already well established on the local scene. After being part of the Kent music circuit for the past decade, Tim is very rapidly emerging as a prolific singer songwriter from his strong roots in Kent. Drawing inspiration from the vocal deliveries of Paul Weller and the poppy influences of bands like Oasis and Paulo Nutini, Tim’s songs are loaded with evocative, emotional lyrics, which are contrasted with his melodic guitar sounds and ambience. His songs are autobiographical and have been the fruits of work over the past five years. With an upcoming album, radio plays and solo appearances across the across the county and capital, 2009 holds bucket loads of promise for Tim.

Three For A Girl

threeforagirl are Immie, Ellie and C, a three piece band from Sevenoaks in Kent. They have been writing and performing together for over a year but have been best friends for all 18 years of their lives. The three girls write and perform acoustic/folk music, favouring close experimental harmonies and hauntingly beautiful instrumentals. Among their repertoire of instruments there are guitars, violins, pianos, drums, various eclectic percussion and occasionally a tambourine called John. They have currently left school, and are concentrating on their full time musical career, playing gigs around London and the South East, as well as promoting their debut album, 'Remember to Forget', of which 10% of the sales go to the African charity Neema Crafts (www.neemacrafts.com).

Threeforagirl has been featured locally on BBC Radio Kent and Sevenoaks Vine Magazine, as well as playing at various venues in London, such as the Regal Room in Hammersmith, The Troubadour in Earl's Court and The Grand Hall of the Cobden Club in Notting Hill. More locally, they have played at the Forum in Tunbridge Wells and The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks. Recently highly talented singer Charley Bird recorded a version of 'Silverlight' (written by Immie) for her debut album, 'Alone'. (for more info please visit www.myspace.com/charleybirdmusic)

Threeforagirl has also had the opportunity to support established folk acts, such as Edwina Hayes, who recently supported Nanci Griffith on her UK tour. They have also been selected as one of the top 5 acts of 2009 to play in the 'Best of Unplugged' showcase at The High Barn in Essex in December, in which they pick the 5 best bands of the year from their acoustic events each month.
