Déjà Fate

In his own words, Déjà Fate is an ‘Urban Soul’ singer. Bridging the traditional vocal performance together with the stylings of contemporary UK underground music scene, he prides himself on being able to combine the best of both worlds. With his music heralded for being “universally palatable” and having “glorious attention to detail” (CK Golding, 2010) he’s advanced from a UK Garage spitter, to an authentic crooner. While he wouldn’t like to base himself on comparisons, he falls somewhere in-between Donaeb, Liam Bailey and John Legend - not afraid to experiment, but very much capable when stripped-back and acoustic.

Coupling his melt-in-the-mouth voice with hard-hitting lyrics, he’s a well-rounded artist set to take on the rest of the game. Since settling-in with Jake Gosling (Mark Ronson, Wiley, Hot Chip) at The Movement in March 2011, the singer from Colchester, Essex has plans revolving around gigging and constructing an album. The body of work aims to reflect past work they’ve done together (including the writing and release of “Been Around the World”, “Indestructible” and “So Many Ways”) as well as showcasing Déjà’s imaginative musical ambitions.
