Local singer/songwriter; Logan Wilson's recently released album entitled ‘Geography' is described by Andy Gunton of Hastings Rock as "one of the best locally-produced albums I've ever heard", praising its "high level of musicianship". Geography harks back to the carefree days of summer, though in no way shies away from the darker side of life. Born in South Africa and currently living in East Sussex, Logan is actively giging up and down the country with his band comprised of Steve Hope (keys), Simon Shaw (guitar/vocals), Sacha Trochet (percussion/vocals) and Matt Novis (bass guitar/vocals) at numerous prominent venues and festivals. Logan continues to enjoy regular airplay and live sessions on BBC Radio 2 on both the Janice Long and Terry Wogan shows and is on the cusp of signing to a major label. Influences include Paul Simon & Neil Finn.
Frances Yonge is a songwriter, pianist and musical director. She loves being involved with many musical projects, but her heart is rooted in the art of writing songs. For Frances, songwriting is an escapism that provides a sanctuary of free expression.
Frances’ work takes you on an unpredictable musical journey which has been described as ‘ageless’ and ‘evocative’.
Despite a saturated music market, Frances remains committed to producing albums, telling her life story in her songs. Her last two albums ‘My Garden’ (2011) and ‘Stonewaller’ (2016) are the result of a fulfilling collaboration and friendship with Miriam Cox (cello) and James Cox (percussion/drums).
Frances is looking forward to sharing her new album, ‘All you can see is sky’ which will be released in 2018.
Established Tunbridge Wells based singer/songwriter; Ian Knapp's melodic, edgy, lyric-based acoustic rock has made people sit up and listen from Seattle to Manila, London to New York. Ian's debut album 'Into these Oceans' was independently released in 2005 to unanimously positive reviews, receiving widespread radio play all over the world and selling well, especially in the U.S. Ian toured the West coast of America late in 2005 and plays regularly in the U.K. Ian has established himself as one of the most popular soloists at the show and has developed a healthy fan base from his performances at The Grey Lady.
Tarnishes is the name given to a collection of songs that is not an album or an E.P, it is an on going body of songs that will never be concluded.
These songs are about feelings and relationships that are forever tarnished, providing the background for the name of this acoustic act.
Newly formed for 2010, the members of Tarnishes have played in many venues around the southeast and London. From the legendary Half Moon in Putney to That’s Tentertainment 2009 music festival in Tenterden, The 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street to many performances at the Grey Lady and The Forum, Tunbridge Wells.
Tarnishes take inspiration from the vocal deliveries of Paul Weller, the melodies of Oasis, guitar riffs from Doves and the charm from local acts like The Kitchen Poet, who is also a long serving artist in the Grey Lady.
Tarnishes have been working very hard on their recordings in the past 12 months, they have featured many times on BBC radio Kent and have an E.P available for gratis. Their music is there to be enjoyed and passed on to whoever appreciates it.
