Headline Act: Jono Harrison

Whether turning his hand to the studio or the stage, it can be hard to pin Jono Harrison down. It is fair to say that he lives and breathes music in a way that borders on obsession.

Formerly a session musician playing in various bands around London, a mystifying back injury forced him to put away his guitar for nearly two years. He taught himself recording techniques, and delved into albums such as Jeff Buckley’s ‘Grace’ and Nick Drake’s harrowing ‘Pink Moon’. Upon recovering, he set about writing own song ideas and recording demos, playing dingy bars around London and Brighton to whoever would listen. Six years on, he signed a deal with boutique label ‘Which Wolf Wins’ and released his eponymous debut album.

Jono subsequently toured the US and and the UK. He co-founded a 28 piece orchestra and joined 80s legends Cutting Crew on keyboard duties, all the while producing other acts and quietly writing in his home studio. As he gathers up influences from wherever he lays his hat, including electronica, trip-hop or post-punk - Jono has been developing a wider, beat-driven sound, soaked in warm synthesisers and chiming guitars, moving on from his former acoustic leanings but still embracing his love of heart-warming melodies.

Charlie Rivers

One time solo singer/songwriter Charlie Rivers has witnessed a truly organic growth in his music which has slowly but surely taken on a full band sound, spurred on by Steve McCormack (guitar), Steve Bassett (bass) and Ash Rushman (drums). In the space of only 16 months, The Charlie Rivers Band has morphed from the 'hear-a-pin-drop' sounds of one man and his guitar, to an uncompromising full band musical experience. 2009 saw the guys play at the "Busking Cancer" launch event alongside "Madness," and attained duo slots at Hyde Park and Wireless festival. Last year the band launched their much anticipated debut album 'Tender Chaos,' playing a host of sell out shows both in the UK and abroad including a storming headline set at the the Local & Live Music festival. Their single "Crazy" received a great deal of local radio play and recent support sets have included Newton Faulkner, Matt Berry and Toploader. The band are currently working on their follow up album, having previewed some of their new material throughout the course of 2011, set for a release in early 2012.

The Pioneers is an acoustic duo made up of George Halliwell and Dan Dearlove, who combine strong harmonies with memorable melodies and lyrics in an exciting and feel-good sound.  They first formed in 2011 and have been writing and gigging ever since, refining their sound and blending influences from pop, folk, country and rock.  They recorded their self-titled E.P. in 2014 and are currently working on their second release.  Both George and Dan also constitute two out of the three members of the band ‘Catching Mangoes’ who regularly play in venues and bars in Brighton and Hove.

Milly was first inspired, by Avril Lavigne, to pick up an electric guitar when she was 6 years old. A few years later she started singing and now mainly plays acoustic guitar and occasionally the ukulele or piano.

She has been providing live music across Surrey, Sussex and Kent since she was 13, at a variety of venues including cafes, restaurants, hotels, pubs, weddings, partys and festivals. Her sets consist of popular covers and originals, with her songwriting influences mainly coming from country music, and her voice and tone having a natural country style.

Visits to Nashville, Tennessee, have provided Milly with inspiration and on one visit was able to perform some of her original songs at the legendary Bluebird Cafe.

Her love of music combined with the opportunities to play live for people, is how she enjoys her spare time.
