Headline Act: Storm Engine

Storm Engine are a UK South-Eastern four piece who formed in 2008 after guitarist Wayne Brummer and bassist George Baldwin met on the set of an erotic Swedish film written by drummer Tim Pears and being directed by singer Ryan Barker. All of them had arrived that day by mistake (Tim was under the impression he’d written a cyber-thriller) and so Storm Engine was formed as a way of dealing with their collective shame and embarrassment.

Fast forward 7 years and Storm Engine are still going strong, bringing a melodic melange of funk and rock to the masses. All writers, their varied influences merge to create a unique and infectious sound formed from harmonious melodies, big riffs, funky bass and driving beats. At the heart of it all though, Storm Engine just want to have fun.

Charlie Rivers (solo)

One time solo singer/songwriter Charlie Rivers has witnessed a truly organic growth in his music which has slowly but surely taken on a full band sound, spurred on by Steve McCormack (guitar), Steve Bassett (bass) and Ash Rushman (drums). In the space of only 16 months, The Charlie Rivers Band has morphed from the 'hear-a-pin-drop' sounds of one man and his guitar, to an uncompromising full band musical experience. 2009 saw the guys play at the "Busking Cancer" launch event alongside "Madness," and attained duo slots at Hyde Park and Wireless festival. Last year the band launched their much anticipated debut album 'Tender Chaos,' playing a host of sell out shows both in the UK and abroad including a storming headline set at the the Local & Live Music festival. Their single "Crazy" received a great deal of local radio play and recent support sets have included Newton Faulkner, Matt Berry and Toploader. The band are currently working on their follow up album, having previewed some of their new material throughout the course of 2011, set for a release in early 2012.

Ellie Wade

I am a budding singer-songwriter from Tunbridge Wells with a great love for music of all genres. My music is predominantly acoustic, with a few folky elements thrown in here and there!

When I was 14, I asked for (and received) a guitar for Christmas. I started teaching myself on Boxing Day that year!! I must admit, writing music started off as a very personal sideline for me; a way to express emotions; I never felt the need to show anyone what I'd written.

Now I look forward to showing the public my music and knowing that they enjoy it, and even relate to it. Music has always been one of my greatest passions and, as I'm sure for many others, it's something that will always be a part of my life.

My main inspirations are Adele, Gabrielle Aplin, Passenger, Bob Dylan, Kate Nash and many more singer songwriters!

Faded Shades

Faded Shades are a three piece originals band from Swanley consisting of Joe, Charlie and Liam. Although if asked we would best describe our music as alternative rock; ourselves and fans alike have found it difficult to label our sound under one particular genre. We believe the reason for this is the huge range of influences the band has between its few members. Crisp acoustic guitar chords are often accompanied by a backdrop of heavy electric rhythm, driving distorted baselines and rolling tom fills to create a rock’n’roll bark, whilst still maintaining an air of easy listening. Many have likened us to a country rock vibe, which is hard to dispute when many of our original tracks have a harmonica present; but we also love exploring other genres such as psychedelic and hard rock. Some collective inspirations to the band are The Rolling Stones, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Who, Foo Fighters and Paul Weller.

The band began when Joe and Liam left a previous group and decided to create a new venture on their own. A spare bedroom at Joe's grandparents house was turned into a makeshift home studio where the pair practiced and recorded a very rough demo. Joe (singer/songwriter/guitarist) and Liam (bass) then recruited Charlie on the drums to complete the line up. Less than a year later we have recorded a better quality demo (which is available to listen to on our social media), played live at many open mic nights and even appeared on multiple radio shows. We are generally very pleased with the reception our music is getting and hope to continue building our repertoire and fanbase!
