The Jemima Price Band

Sensitive yet dynamic, The Jemima Price Band deliver an expressive and gritty sound. With a firm nod to Folk and Blues, their "country-esque" roots inspired music is charged with emotive lyrics, distinct vocals and crafted melodies to create their own unique style packed full of heart and soul. Singer-songwriter Jemima Price fronts the band, whose initial career was performing as a solo artist. Her debut album "Easy" was released to glowing reviews, hailed as a "talent to watch" by Cosmopolitan, and as having "the potential to outperform any of the season's crop of female singer/songwriters" by Q Magazine. Her second album, "Turn Out The Light", was conceived as part of a book of poems and songs "About A Girl" published by Elliott & Thompson. Songs from her albums appear on "Songbirds, the Essential Album", amongst other film soundtracks, and she has supported artists such as Bap Kennedy, Jools Holland and Deacon Blue. From initially working with Polish writer and guitarist Mirek Latosek on a couple tracks from "Turn Out The Light", Jemima went on to form a partnership with Mirek collaborating as an acoustic duo and creating The Jemima Price Band, drawing on their diverse influences and backgrounds. Subsequently the band has evolved to feature percussionist and drummer Sacha Trochet, Gary Holder on double bass and John Wigg on violin, mandolin and harmonica. 7 track E.P. "No Alibi For Alice", featuring tracks from their forthcoming album, is available for purchase this evening.
